FAQ   Frequently Asked Questions

Our scales were designed and validated only for fluent English speakers residing in North America, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. Because there is no validity data for their use in other populations, we do not ship our paper scales outside those areas.

If, however, you're interested in doing validation research using our electronic (online) administration system, please contact us.
We cannot give permission for this. The scales are valid and reliable only for fluent English speakers in western countries where English is the native language. Translating the scale, whether verbally or in writing, is a violation of our copyright. Even if we did give permission, there is no evidence that the translated scale would be valid or reliable without the proper research.
You may NOT photocopy the printed scales for any purpose whatsoever. If you would like to use our products for your research project, you must buy the scales—one for each study participant. The printed scales are sold in pads of 50. See the explanation on our copyright page.

Requests coming from any public account, such as gmail, yahoo, hotmail, and so forth, will NOT qualify for the student discount on printed scales.

Using WAS EASy, our new online administration system, yes! WAS EASy is the only approved means for administering our assessment scales on a computer. You can administer to one person or hundreds instantly with a few clicks. And administering via WAS EASy is cheaper, too! Refer to our announcement page for more information.
WAS EASy provides you a unique website address and one unique passcode for each respondent. Your client enters the passcode on the website and answers the scale items.

After the client submits their final responses, the scale is scored and you're given the results. If at any time your client is interrupted, such as losing their internet connection, they just enter their passcode on the special website again and pick up where they left off.

For more information, see our WAS EASy announcement page.
